Offshore banks
Due to changes in most offshore jurisdictions there are currently almost no bank licenses
available at flexible terms for small offshore banks.
Bank license
Even in the case where you would obtain a bank license, your bank would have to have a actual office in the country of licensing
with full time staff and day to day management due to regulations such as the US Patriot Act.
Off-shore banking
A very attractive option which is available again available is the Swedish Credit Union.
New formations of these entities were not available for some time, but we can now offer this highly
respected entity again. The CU can take deposits, make loans and offer financial
services in general to clients worldwide. There is no paid up capital requirements as
long as the CU has 1000 or less members (clients) at all times. This entity can issue
CD´s, offer savings and checking accounts, make loans etc just like a fully licensed bank.
It has the added benefit of being registered in Sweden, a highly respected jurisdiction and
a full member of the Eurpean Union. The entity is not covered by the US Patriot Act and
you would be able to open accounts in Sweden and elsewhere without setting up a
physical presence there.
